Frequently Asked Questions

What does "BPI certified" actually mean?

BPI (Biodegradable Products Institute) certifies products that meet ASTM D6400/D6868 — the strict North American standard for industrial compostability. A BPI-certified item breaks down into water, CO₂, and biomass within 180 days in a commercial composting facility, with no PFAS or toxic residue. We only sell BPI-certified products. Read more on our BPI Certification page

Will these products compost in my backyard pile?

Most BPI-certified products require commercial composting (high heat + microbial activity that a backyard pile rarely sustains). If you need home-compostable specifically, contact us and we can advise — some bagasse and PHA products do break down at home temperatures.

Can I buy single units instead of a full case?

Not currently. Zwai ships full cases only. Case quantities are listed on every product page (e.g., "1,000/case" or "300/case"). If you need smaller quantities, browse Eco-Products or Better Earth on Amazon for sample packs.

Do you offer bulk discounts?

Volume discounts apply automatically at higher quantities for select SKUs. For large recurring orders (10+ cases/month), email matt@compostitall.com — we offer wholesale pricing through our customer portal program with custom rates per customer.

Can I get custom-printed products?

Yes, through our wholesale program (not the retail shop). Minimum print runs typically 5,000–10,000 units depending on product. Email matt@compostitall.com to discuss.

Where do you ship from?

Our warehouse is in Maplewood, MN. Shipping cost shown at checkout is calculated live against your ZIP code via UPS — what you see is what we pay.

How fast will I receive my order?

Orders placed before 2 PM Central business days ship the same day. UPS Ground delivers in 3–5 business days for most of the contiguous US. Choose UPS 3 Day Select or Next Day Air at checkout if you need it faster.

What if I need to return something?

Full cases unopened: 30-day return window for a refund. See our Returns

Is "compostable" the same as "biodegradable"?

No. "Biodegradable" is unregulated marketing language. "Compostable" with a BPI mark means independent lab-verified breakdown in commercial composting within a defined time. Anything we sell carries the BPI mark.

Do you ship internationally?

Not at this time. US-48 only.
